Hi, Mary. Good to hear from you. Yes, I knew you had made it through the dark night of cancer and come out in full radiance. Are you writing in response to reading the article about the Paths to Creative Retirement in the NY Times last week? Or were the stars lined up a certain way?
Many changes in my life. I remarried on October 25 of last year, helped get my daughter elected to the Asheville City Council, and spent the first year of my retirement writing a book on philosophers' autobiographies. Now I'm searching for a publisher and/or an agent. My wife and I were in Seattle in August on the tail end of a trip to Alaska (Fairbanks, Denali, Anchorage and then sailing down the Inside Passage to Vancouver, BC). We also went to Olympia, my former home town. It was a wonderful trip. Oh, I think you know I retired last July? I will be 68 in March of next year.

I'm planning to teach a course based on my book for the Center's College for Seniors in the spring and then teach it in the UNCA MLA program next fall if things work out. I'd love to share some of the manuscript with you if you're interested.

In a few weeks, I'm going to my 50th high school reunion in the suburbs of Detroit. I've only been to one previous reunion, so it should be fascinating.

I wrote a piece about a year before I retired (or knew I was going to retire just when I did) and I think you'd find it amusing and "provokin'."

Tell me more about life in WW.

With all best wishes, Ron

Hope you are doing well and enjoying yourself. Discovered the Paths to Creative Retirement as a link from an article re financing retirement several months ago. UF sponsors planning seminars on retirement now. I attended the first one approx. 2 yrs ago here, presented by MetLife on RetireWise. Excellent. Wish I could attend one of yours. I'm 68 (on the 16th) retired once 4 yrs ago, back to work for another 2 yrs, then it'll be retirement from any further full-time wk. I too have plans/ideas/wishes that I'm filing away for then. Decided not to wait on some and that's a big help. Am going to pass on your info. and info. on your workshop to our retirement department. Who knows, perhaps one day you'll visit "Gator Country" and I'll meet you.
